When Community Shows Up

Majestic Wellness Retreat didn't just offer services. They offered a plan, a team, and a reason to keep going.

Majestic Wellness Retreat

My father passed at 61. Heart disease. The kind of loss that doesn't announce itself slowly — it arrives and rearranges everything, including your body. Grief lives in the nervous system. It tightens the shoulders, disrupts sleep, sits heavy in the chest in a way that feels physical because it is.

I wasn't looking for a spa. I was looking for somewhere to put it.

Tiffany Henderson, owner of Majestic Wellness Retreat, heard about my father's passing and reached out. Not with condolences alone — with a plan. A real, structured wellness plan designed to help my body regulate through grief. That's not something you find on a menu. That's community.

Community isn't always the people you grew up with. Sometimes it's the people who show up when you need it most.

The Team at Majestic

The wellness plan

What Tiffany and her team built wasn't a gift certificate. It was a protocol — a thoughtful, sequenced plan designed to work with the body's stress response and give the nervous system what it needs to process something enormous.

Kayla worked on the skin, which carries stress in ways we don't always see. Anethia worked on the muscle, where grief tends to hold. B12 shots to support energy and mood. Foot detoxes. A mindfulness component — not as an afterthought, but as a deliberate part of the structure. The plan wasn't about luxury. It was about function. About staying in the body when the instinct is to leave it.

The Protocol

A grief wellness plan

Tiffany built this plan with intention. Every service connected to a specific aspect of grief recovery. That's the difference between a spa and a community.

She didn't wait for me to ask for help. She created the conditions for healing and invited me in.

Why this

June's was built in the grief of losing my father. The brand exists because of what that loss revealed — that Caribbean and Creole communities carry enormous love, but not always the tools to process what that love costs us when we lose someone. Heart disease takes our people too early. Grief does the rest of the work.

Majestic Wellness Retreat is the kind of business that understands this without being told. Tiffany, Kayla, and Anethia didn't see a client. They saw a person navigating something enormous, and they built something around her. That's community care in practice — not in theory.

June's Community spotlight exists to name businesses like this. The ones that show up. The ones doing work that goes beyond the service menu. The ones worth knowing about, worth supporting, worth sending your people to.
